This was a weird moment for New Zealand, Lisa Carrington in the London Olympics this year won a gold medal in K1-200 metres canoeing. It was one of New Zealand proudest moments and also one of our first gold medals in canoeing.
One of my most favourite event is the Modern Pentathlon. It has 5 sports and they are swimming, running, fencing, horse racing, and wrestling. Everyone in just a single event would have competed at the same time. All of the events are to match up all the scores and who had the most score out of the athletes who participated in it. If you won in the swimming the amount of points would be 1000! Amazing because I saw it for myself.
One of America's top athlete in the Olympics is Michael Phelps who was awarded the greatest athlete yet and won 22 medals and 18 of them Gold. He was presented with a special trophy and is an American.
