Year 8"s Camp Reflection

The year 8's went to the lovely Christian Camp Youth. It was a long ride on the bus and I was sitting next to my buddy, Kobe. Mr Barks was in the front of us and was asking about Kobe’s presentation on his blog, as they talked off I saw domes and a lot of bushes. We finally arrived and it was a relief and that was my favorite thing was the bus ride.

My favorite activity was the hike, it was a 3 hour hike and my buddy Kobe I had to keep an eye on because of his asthma. It was slippery on the tree roots and there were steep paths that had me to jump or slide down.My best part of this activity was the run down it was hard having to hook on to trees I even did a cannonball in the bushes which really hurt while rolling like a spike-o-pult breaking things along the way. There was a three way path and Lepa, Kaiden and others were there taking their shirts off, I took the right path while running and I caught up with the others. We made it to the finishing point and climbed the fences.

The best part of the week was the Waikato Hot Springs and it was awesome and the water slide was fun and sore. I hated having to go flying off the slide and slam into I even hit my leg on the edge and now there is a bump on it now OUCH!  We finished and went back to school but we had a break down and changed buses hehe.

Expectation For Camp

The year 8’s will be going on camp in one more day, the name is Christian Youth Camp (CYC) and I’m excited. It will be cloudy this week probably. There will be 5-10 activities and it will be fun. What I will be expecting from me is to be safe and have fun. One of the parts I’m looking forward to is sleeping in the cabins. I wonder what games and sporting events will be happening this week who knows it could be fun.


One of the activities I'm looking forward to is the slide and roasting marshmallows they will be tasty. I hope we are allowed to do some bombing and it will be awesome along with paintball but it will be painful yet fun.

Tamaki

On a wonderful day the year 8 and I went to Tamaki College for tech and when it finished we stayed. We stayed so that we could go to some class and man they were awesome.

The first class that my group went to was Music. The teacher there was funny I didn’t really know his name so I called him Sir. One of a our tasks were to make up a rap. It was hard but we came up with one it goes like this Netbooks are cool like school but we don’t like to follow rules. That's all we came up with.

We next went to English and we did some poems. My poem was about dragons and how they live and it was fun. We went to a room so that we could record ourselves, I did make some mistakes but the rest was perfect.

The last one was science and I was excited it is my favorite subject. When we got inside we made tasty toffee  but it was hard. The last was making a balloon helicopter. Mine was small it didn’t go very high I came last.

A Bushfire

In Western Australia a little boy called Sole who was a fit kid and  was going for a bushwalk.  and he saw some fascinating birds even some he hasn’t seen in the country. He found $50 dollars on the ground and said “choice 50 bucks for me I’m the man”.

Sole was half way there and soon he could smell something burning and he looked behind him and saw a light getting brighter than everything around started to burn. He was startled and began to run and when he could hear the road the only way there was burnt. Evertyhing was soon red.

Sole could hear a siren and and is stopped then he saw blue and red flashing. He could feel some water touch his feet then the intense flame begin to evaporate. Then they saw him and took to the hospital and took good care and soon he went home safely.

Earth's Big Break Up

There has been earthquakes in Sumatra due to the Indo-Australian and Sunda tectonic plates have been rubbing against each other and it is causing earthquakes across the country. These earthquakes have put out huge amounts of seismic activity in the world since half a century. The earthquakes how been known to be felt all the way in Mexico and that is pretty amazing besides one that has been felt in Los Angles.

Swimming-Theory

When my classroom went swimming, some of us didn't go swimming we had to right things about two words help and huddle. Help was one that I wasn’t shore with but huddle well it was common to me when stranded out at sea. Huddle is a technique that helps keep you warm, you fold your arms and cross your legs to trap heat in.

There were some questions on a sheet of paper asking you about why should you stay with a capsized boat. I thought that it could give shelter and is a little warm in it. The were about six objects on the poster and they were a chilly bin, a boat, planks of wood and etc. These were important gears they keep a float.

Manaikalani

It was the fifth Manaiakalani Film Festival and this was held at the Hoyts in Sylvia Park. It was a great opportunity for the nine Manaiakalani schools and groups of schools went to see the great films that they have made.

My favorite thing about the Manaiakalani Film Festival was that we got as a group and watch our brilliant movie on screen to show the rest of the schools at how talented we were. There was one class at my school that I thought was funny was Room 18 them and there sups with their heads. Raihan was the funniest of them all.

The bus ride back was funny some of Room 20 had to sit on the ground and I called them good kids. Some of us were singing on the bus and man were we flat no talent in singing but acting is what we do.

Hobo

He looks out the window and a woman by the name of Meyer Borg his old friend was in her garden picking berries. A dark shadow comes over her and she sees feet in front of her then she looks up and sees the alien called E12757. his feelers touched her head and they were speaking to each other through thought.

They were still sending thoughts to each other and E12757 suggested that they go to his ship. She asked him that she’ll call him Hobo, she soon asked him if he knew Duke Lon then he took her to the room and Duke was gone.

She was following Hobo or sneaking and saw him touch the red triangle, then took his suit off the crossed his feelers that meant he was going to sleep. He repeated the cycle again and again and on the ninetieth  cycle he told her that he will be going soon.

When he went back to sleep on the twentieth cycle she creeped into his room and put on the suit and went she left her journal on his chest and told him that she was going back back to Earth and Hobo was an ancient word then said “ I’m the Hobo”.

Stomach Churning...

Sean went to Rainbow End and the first thing
he saw was a rollercoaster.There was a man standing taking tickets for people to get on the ride.

He asked the man if he was allowed to go on and have a cool ride around the loop. He said “Sorry no little kids allowed you need an adult or someone over sixteen with you sorry”
Sean ran to his mother and she was busy so he asked his brother.

His brother said “yep!” and they went on Sean was happy until it went super fast and he was shaking after he got on. His brother laughed and said “What a big ride hey little bro.” He didn’t feel good he went to the toilet and boom diarrhea.

Broke Family

There was a family who was poor and had little money or no money at all, they were one of the poorest people in their country.

The Fom family lived in England, London, their poorness start 23 years ago when they lost their company.They made products known as Fresh which were pies. John Fom got a job but they only got $2 dollars per day but it wasn’t enough to pay the bills they would soon have to live on the streets.

It wasn’t long until Feng the third oldest found a diamond on the road and reported it to the police and he got a reward of one million dollars. It was a check and soon they were famous because it was in the newspaper and they paid their overdue bills and was happy.

They were happy and also got a flash new job for the Queen. They met new people and soon got themselves a new company and Feng Fom was the boss and soon it was the best company.

Roller Coaster Fun

School Olympic Games

A girl named Rosa was at a School Olympic Games and one of the games she participated in a game called three-legged soccer and something happened.

Rosa was playing three-legged soccer without a partner she was the odd one out. She was competing against Kenya. As she was playing she tripped over someone and hurt her sore on her knee. She was sore but also mad at that boy named Richard who bumped her off.

Rosa was crying and some of her friends came to help . They helped her up and took her to the sick bay. They had a quick look at her sore and put cream on it and a placed a plaster on top of her sore then gave her a lollipop.

She was happy and went back to play carefully on the next game.

Skyrim: The Ultimate Show Down

In the ages before record time was a land of unimaginable creatures, dragons ruled the land enslaving all races like nords,imperials,argonians,elves and a powerful feline race. There was one who withstand their power and his name was Dovahkiin -Dragonborn, he was the mightiest of the dragon slayers and he stole their powers and used it against them.

200 years after the Oblivion Crisis in the 4E001 the Dragonborn was found at Helgen. He looked up and saw the sky turn red with flaming rocks falling then a dragon came and destroyed the the village down to the ground. He went to the Jarl of Whiterun to send defense to the nearest village called Riverwood. In the sky there was a voice that said “Dovahkiin”. 

One of the guards told him that the ‘Greybeards’ summoned him to the Throat of The World, it was a mountain that merely touched the sky.He ran up the mountain to meet these ‘ Greybeards’. When he got there an old monastery was there. He walked in and he was welcomed. They taught him the power of the voice which the dragons used against the races.He killed dragons using the voice and his blade, but he found a powerful dragon who knew where the chief of the dragons were so the dragon took him there. 

There was 3 dragons waiting above a sacred temple. He slaughtered or those who stood before him and found a portal to another realm where the dead lived in peace.He found the dragon known as Alduin who was also the oldest of them all. The Dragonborn died fighting the dragon but Alduin died too but his soul was launched into time and space while the Dragonborns body turn to dust and was ashes protecting the land of faith.

Dangers of Smoking

The dangers of smoking include diseases that affect the lungs heart and the brain. In my argument I’ll be talking about dangers of smoking and the likelihood of catching a disease from secondhand smoking.

One of the diseases of smoking is lung cancer such as emphysema,bronchitis and also chronic air obstruction. It damages or blocks the airways and your alveoli (They are parts of your lungs to help you breath) as well. Smoking is hard on the heart because of heart disease. The fact is that the tobacco causes disability or even death. 75% of smokers in the world die from heart and lung disease which air to your lungs would be blocked and your heart would stop. Some of cancers from smoking is kidney cancer, stomach cancer, or even bladder cancer.

There are unpleasant consequences for second hand smoking. Environmental tobacco smoke (secondhand smoke) is smoke that comes from someone breathing out or exhaled out of their nose or mouth. It is mostly dangerous to children and could catch those disease that I’ve shown you above. Their lungs are likely to stop or reduce growth to the lungs making them hard to breath or get asthma. The likelihood of a child to get a disease who is exposed to secondhand smoking from a parent is high. 90% of children are around their parents when they are smoking.

I’ve shown you what the effects of smoking and what could happen to your child through secondhand smoking.

Grief And Sorrow

Grief or sorrow could be caused when someone dies. Intense sorrow could be caused when a person dies unexpectedly and a family member didn’t know until they are told that's when they are caused with great sorrow.

What is this grief? Grief is an emotion or a feeling which is deep sorrow, esp. thats caused by someone’s death. Grief has to do with anyone's death.

Here is an example of how grief made three family’s sad. In Afghanistan three soldiers were killed by an I.E.D (Improvised Explosion Device). Their parents didn’t know but they were soon told and they would've been filled with grief and deep sorrow. Their deaths were unexpected because they didn’t know that would happen.

An Awesome Experience

That was sad leaving the almighty Kevin in the green screen room while everyone was already running. I didn’t notice until I heard Mr Harris telling a bunch of silly kids to hurry up with the rest that were getting close to the end at Pt England Reserve. I quickly got out and ran gassing all the other children in front then I got a stitch so I walked but when I ran and I did a loud fart and man was I ashamed.
As I was catching up Didi was on the right of me. Didi and I had a fast race to see who would make it first to the gate but he was pretty quick anyways I still beat with a feeling of exhaustion and victory. There were more challenges ahead of me, but I saw Kobe the giant and Tau the dry,they got smart saying “see you at the finish. Running to the the top felt good giving my legs soreness but also a awesome exercise. I felt like giving out, but I kept going till I stopped at the top and walking back. I laughed when I saw Kobe the giant who should've been at the finish but nah he wanted to walked so I caught up with him.
Kobe and I were walking together and we were at the finish line and crossed it but Kobe was saying “ I win” but he caked it we were a tie.

The London Games

This was a weird moment for New Zealand, Lisa Carrington in the London Olympics this year won a gold medal in K1-200 metres canoeing. It was one of New Zealand proudest moments and also one of our first gold medals in canoeing.

One of my most favourite event is the Modern Pentathlon. It has 5 sports and they are swimming, running, fencing, horse racing, and wrestling. Everyone in just a single event would have competed at the same time. All of the events are to match up all the scores and who had the most score out of the athletes who participated in it. If you won in the swimming the amount of points would be 1000! Amazing because I saw it for myself.
One of America's top athlete in the Olympics is Michael Phelps who was awarded the greatest athlete yet and won 22 medals and 18 of them Gold. He was presented with a special trophy and is an American.

What could make a superior athlete? I think It might be hard work. I think it is determined on how hard they work and persevere. It’s like that saying on the TV ad - “Practice, practice, practice makes perfect”.

Here is a story of one athlete who had to work hard and he competed in the Olympics 1936 Berlin, Germany. His name was Jesse Owens, he broke the world record in the 100m in the Olympics. It wasn’t just a miracle, he had to work hard and he had a fantastic coach. His coach inspired him to give a lot of determination and effort.


A superior athlete works hard. All Olympians work hard to reach their goal. Hard work achieves goals.

My Gold Medal

Here is my first gold medal, I had to work hard to get a gold medal and it is also my very first. I am trying to achieve more so I can obtain more gold medals. I will set a record of having the most medals in my class. So I will go for gold to achieve another gold medal.
